COMMUNITY-BASED MANAGEMENT OF PANDEMICS ONLINE TRAINING COURSE

OVERVIEW

This online training course is based on the same training course provided by ZFF as an immediate response to the need for technical training on pandemic response during the initial outbreak of COVID-19 in the year 2020. The lessons learned from the implementation of the training course, as well as the challenges of surges in local cases and the identification of a new epidemic variant, guided the development of the Community-Based Management of Pandemics online training course.

OBJECTIVES:

With the translation of the CBMC into a full asynchronous training course, the course aims to enable learners from LGUs to learn:

  1. Health system readiness assessment and planning for prioritized actions according to current Response Level
  2. Aligning their LGU’s response mechanisms and coordination according to PDITR guidelines
  3. Surge planning from various possible scenarios
  4. Identifying support needs of families/households to prevent the spread of respiratory infections such as COVID-19 and take care of family members

  • Module 4: Family as the Unit of Care

COURSE REQUIREMENTS AND COMPLETION

Each module is designed to facilitate the understanding of learners on their roles in strengthening their preparedness and response mechanisms and coordination in times of healthcare system disruptions during pandemics. In order to maximize their learning experience and receive a certificate towards the end of each module, it is required for learners to:

  1. Dedicate a minimum of 2 hours of study time per module
  2. Answer all required activities and learning assessments in order to
