Nutrition Leadership
and Governance Course
OVERVIEW
The lack of access to proper nutrition is a major contributor to disease burden in the country. Children under five years of age in particular are most vulnerable as malnutrition can cause long-term illness and even deaths.
This online training course aims to help nutrition services implementers at the local government level to formulate and implement solutions in their own localities to address the issues of malnutrition, particularly in the First 1000 Days of Life (F1KD), and to realize the goal of assisting families in the communities in raising happier, healthier children.
The course is based on the lessons learned from the implementation of ZFF’s nutrition intervention programs which identified the needed leadership and governance actions in improving nutrition outcomes for the F1KD population
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
- Identify current national and international interventions in stunting reduction in F1KD
- Recognize the importance of leadership and governance for a better nutrition system
- Apply systems thinking in analyzing their LGU’s F1KD challenges
- Identify priority nutrition challenge in their LGU’s F1KD services
- Perform stakeholder mapping with identified engagement mechanisms for their LGU’s F1KD services

COURSE REQUIREMENTS AND COMPLETION
